Raft River Elementary School Hosts Explorations Summer Camps

Table of Contents

Raft River Elementary School used $5,000 in Explorations funding to offer a Summer Arts School for 23 local children, aged nine to 14, in July 2005. Students used professional art materials and attended field trips to nurture a career in the arts. Children from neighbouring elementary schools, out of town, and home-schooled students attend the program.

Explorations provided students in kindergarten to Grade 7 with opportunities to explore arts, sport and recreation in summer camp settings. The program, which ran from 2005-2008, served students who were otherwise unable to attend summer camps due to location, local resources or financial limitations. Explorations was supported by the Province of British Columbia.
