Story
2010 Legacies Now launched the first Spirit of BC Week in 2005 to mark the five-year countdown to the start of the 2010 Winter Games. From February 12-19, more than 40 communities participated in the province-wide celebration.
The marquee event for Spirit of BC Week was held in Surrey at the site of the largest free-standing flag pole in the world. Originally erected at Expo 86, the pole was relocated to Surrey and stands at over 282-feet high. This event, along with more than 40 others throughout the province, focused on energizing and engaging BC residents to create lasting legacies throughout the province.
Spirit of BC was supported by the Province of British Columbia. Visit SpiritofBC.com for more information.
