Our Values

At 2010 Legacies Now, we closely considered how we worked together, and how we worked with our partners and communities throughout BC. We carried out an organization-wide effort to identify the values that best represented our aspirations and our conduct as a diverse group of people working together, toward common goals.

Trust and Respect

We treat others as we wish to be treated, with respect and appreciation of individual, cultural and historical diversity. We fulfill our commitments, always doing what we say we will do. We seek to listen to each other and empower one another to work to the best of our abilities.

Innovation and Creativity

We are catalysts for change. We constantly redefine what collaboration can mean and how it can work. We encourage one another to think outside the box, and we listen to and respect new ideas for conducting our work.

Collaboration and Teamwork

We embrace teamwork in everything we do. We constantly look for opportunities to work in partnership, both internally among our departments and externally with organizations and individuals throughout BC. We work together towards our common goals and seek to deliver beyond expectations, both our own and those of others.


We believe in recognizing individual and organizational accomplishments, both big and small. We acknowledge and celebrate not just the results, but also the effort and processes undertaken to achieve the desired outcomes. We share information, experiences and knowledge, and take time to share our successes and our gratitude with each other.


We believe in honesty and fairness, and we apply these values to our work. We hold ourselves responsible and accountable in delivering on our goals. We are consistent in our actions and behaviour, among both our staff and our partners. We stand behind and believe in our values, which provide guidance for all the work we do.
