Our Approach
2010 Legacies Now started with an idea, the concept that bidding for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games could bring benefits to British Columbia. That one idea quickly grew into so much more.
In order to leave lasting legacies in BC communities well beyond the Games, we approached our work with three main ideals: to create mutually-beneficial partnerships, to be a highly-engaged funding organization, and to use innovative methods to broaden our reach. Through our networks, we identified useful resources and facilitated new partnerships to create far-reaching self-sustaining community legacies.
Moving beyond the 2010 Winter Games, we are embracing the spirit, drive and dedication of the world's athletes to ensure our work leading up to the Games continues. We strategically transferred many of our programs to our partners who will carry them forward as they continue to create lasting community benefits.
Building on our international reputation as a leader in social innovation, we are evolving our business model to further our work in creating positive and lasting social change. On February 11, on the eve of the one-year anniversary of the 2010 Winter Games, we will unveil our new direction. Please stay tuned for our announcement.
