Whiterock Hosts 2007 Junior and Senior Women's Fast Pitch National Championships

The 2007 Junior and Senior Women's Fast Pitch National Championships received $10,000 from Hosting BC. The event, held at Softball City, drew 350 athletes, aged 19-30, from six provinces with seven teams coming from B.C. There were 2,350 spectators and 65 volunteers supported the event.

The event allowed teams to compete nationally without significant travel costs. Participants booked more than 900 hotel room nights and many vacationed in BC following the event, bringing economic benefit to the area.

Hosting BC provides BC communities with funding to host national and international sport events. The program is supported by the Province of British Columbia.
