West Vancouver Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2007

West Vancouver, one of more than 83 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2007, hosted a free family skate and the Wintersong Festival, an annual 10-day celebration. The festival showcased professional and aspiring talent and provided singing opportunities for all abilities and ages.

One block of The Village at Park Royal was turned into a festive space for the Opening Ceremonies and introduced an expanded multi-disciplinary Arts and Culture Festival that will become one of the District of West Vancouver's main cultural offerings to the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Spirit of BC is a province-wide program that involves 95 Spirit of BC committees, representing over 200 communities across the province. These committees support local programs and help create opportunities in sport and recreation, arts, literacy, volunteerism, business and tourism.
