Story

The 2007 Canada Post Junior National Freestyle Championships received $10,000 from HostingBC.  Held at Silver Star Mountain, the event attracted 138 athletes, aged 18 years and under from five provinces. There were 500 spectators and 50 volunteers supported the event.

The national level competition created greater awareness of the sport and contributed to the venue upgrading its facilities, which may include a new World Cup mogul course. Economic and tourism benefits included increased revenues from accommodation and meals, with some guests staying in the area to visit local attractions. Event organizers and volunteers are now trained to national level and may serve at future events.

Hosting BC provides BC communities with funding to host national and international sport events. The program is supported by the Province of British Columbia.
