Twenty Minute Musicals Premiere in Vancouver

The Theatre Replacement Society received $52,000 from Arts Partners in Creative Development to commission four eclectic groups of artists to create a series of Twenty Minute Musicals (20mms). Chosen for their vision and versatility, the commissioned artists have created works that promise to be quirky, clever and brave. The 20mms will foster creative collaborations between exceptional artists from different disciplines and will solidify Vancouver’s reputation as the place where fresh art is born. The works were premiered at Vancouver’s PuSh International Performing Arts Festival in January 2009.

Arts Partners in Creative Development assists BC arts and cultural organizations to create and develop new works or further develop existing works. The program is in partnership with Canada Council for the Arts, Province of British Columbia, City of Vancouver, Vancouver Foundation and VANOC.
