Burnaby was the final stop for the 2010 Legacies Now Connecting Communities Tour, a 2,400 square-foot display presented by Bell and the Province of British Columbia. In 2005, the nine-week tour also visited Kelowna, Vernon, Cranbrook, Nanaimo, West Vancouver, Victoria, Nelson and Prince George.

Travelling over 3,200 kilometres, the tour allowed visitors to send a good luck message to Canada's athletes competing in Torino, connect to business opportunities through the 2010 Commerce Centre, and sign up for volunteer opportunities.

"The Tour will touch thousands of British Columbians in dozens of BC communities prior to 2010," said the Honourable Olga Ilich, Minister of Tourism, Sport and the Arts. "We look forward to working with 2010 Legacies Now on programs like this to convey community benefits as a result of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games."

The display also featured information panels and interactive activities such as a hockey shoot, ski simulator and sport testing initiatives.

"At Bell, we take pride in connecting communities to create opportunities that help foster economic growth and we are proud to be partnering with 2010 Legacies Now to educate British Columbians on the many benefits that can be leveraged from the upcoming 2010 Winter Games. Supporting initiatives that help build strong and vibrant communities is our priority," said Justin Webb, vice president of Olympic Services, Bell Canada.

The 2010 Legacies Now Connecting Communities Tour was an annual tour that visited communities to share the spirit of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and encourage British Columbians to create their own legacies leading up to 2010 and beyond. The tour was presented by Bell and the Province of British Columbia.
