Story

In 2007, the Oceanside Spirit of BC Committee hosted a booth at a local street market to attract volunteers and promote committee activities in the community. Committee members interacted with potential volunteers and distributed Spirit of BC promotional material including flags, tattoos and bracelets.

"Having something to give to kids was an awesome way to attract attention and start a conversation with parents and grandparents," said Wendy Maurer, chair, Oceanside Spirit of BC Committee.

The tourism region of Oceanside incorporates the communities of Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Nanoose Bay, French Creek, Arrowsmith, Coombs Country and Lighthouse Country.
