Story

The Quesnel School District received $8,000 from Explorations to host four arts, sport and recreation camps at Ecole Baker Elementary School. There were 108 participants aged 5-13 from eight different schools who engaged in five arts and four sport activities daily. Students took part in dance, drama, and music as well as yoga, aerobic and cardio endurance activities.

Designed to be affordable for working families, the camps provided opportunities for students that might not otherwise be available.

Explorations provided students in kindergarten to Grade 7 with opportunities to explore arts, sport and recreation in summer camp settings. The program, which ran from 2005-2008, served students who were otherwise unable to attend summer camps due to location, local resources or financial limitations. Explorations was supported by the Province of British Columbia.
