Story

More than 1,500 people celebrated Spirit of BC Week 2008 in Quesnel, one of 100 communities to celebrate the Week. There were 14 events, including a ceremonial flag raising, free family swims, fun alpine ski races, and the Quesnel Spirit of BC Committee hosted a puck drop to promote local hockey.

A literacy event saw children's author David Bouchard speaking to 600 elementary school students about the value of reading. At the museum, there was a story telling session and tea party using heritage recipes.

In addition, the athletic and artistic communities were honoured in the Quesnel Sports Hall of Fame and Art Gallery of Honour induction ceremonies.
