Story

Prince George received $25,000 from Measuring Up. Funds were used to launch a campaign, called People in Place by 2010, to increase employment of persons with a disability. The campaign features televised public service announcements, to be aired leading up to 2010, that celebrate people with disabilities and their employers. Other funded activities include educational workshops for employers offering information on hiring a person with a disability.

Measuring Up helps communities assess and improve how accessible and inclusive they are for people with disabilities, seniors and others with similar needs. The program includes a fund, established by the Province of British Columbia, which offers grants to communities to complete accessibility-related projects.
