Port Coquitlam Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2007

One of more than 83 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2007, Port Coquitlam held a Winter Festival to celebrate winter sports, arts, volunteers and literacy. The festival included numerous events such as a half-price or Toonie family skate, Hockey Night in PoCo, ice-carving demonstrations, face painting, free snacks, Spirit of BC giveaways, and lots of prizes. Other activities included arts, crafts, readings, sport demonstrations, information booths, free skating lessons and races, greeting local athletes and autograph signing by professional hockey players.


Spirit of BC is a province-wide program that involves 95 Spirit of BC committees, representing over 200 communities across the province. These committees support local programs and help create opportunities in sport and recreation, arts, literacy, volunteerism, business and tourism.
