Pemberton Measures Up in Accessibility

Pemberton received $15,000 from Measuring Up to make improvements to the accessibility of Municipal Hall that would serve as a model for community businesses. These improvements included installing walkway lighting; resurfacing the front approach; installing an intercom to assist those with disabilities gain entrance to the Hall; creating accessible parking; and installing universal signage.


 

Measuring Up helps communities assess and improve how accessible and inclusive they are for people with disabilities, seniors and others with similar needs. The program includes a fund, established by the Province of British Columbia, which offers grants to communities to complete accessibility-related projects.
