Pemberton Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2008

There were 18 events held to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2008 in Pemberton, one of more than 100 communities to celebrate the Week. An estimated 4,000 people attended Pemberton Winterfest, participating in events that included the Lil'Wat Art Display, Art Follies Unlimited featuring live music and performing arts, a street party and outdoor concert, a polar bear swim and the Pemberton Mountain Film Festival. There was also a Winterfest Read-o-Thon, a street hockey tournament and a family Nordic ski experience.

Spirit of BC Week is an annual province-wide celebration of British Columbia and its unique communities. Held each February, it is a week of over 300 events and activities showcasing local programs and services that strengthen community arts, literacy, sport, recreation and volunteerism. The celebration is supported by the Province of British Columbia.
