Movement Enterprises Society Commissions New Dance Performances

With $25,000 from Arts Partners in Creative Development, MovEnt commissioned eight new works by Canadian dance artists and choreographers. Called Dances for a Small Stage 20 - The Commissions, the work celebrates the 20th show presented in the seven years of producing the popular series Dances for a Small Stage.

The dances were premiered in Vancouver in January 2009 and will be repeated at the National Arts centre in Ottawa in April.

Arts Partners in Creative Development assists BC arts and cultural organizations to create and develop new works or further develop existing works. The program is in partnership with Canada Council for the Arts, Province of British Columbia, City of Vancouver, Vancouver Foundation and VANOC.
