Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2007

One of more than 83 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2007, Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows held a free Family Spirit Skate at Planet Ice and Ridge Meadows Arena. A family curling event was also held at Golden Ears Winter Club. Also, there was a family trail walk open to all members of the community, with transportation provided by shuttle buses where participants learned about the local parks.

The Read with Me event featured a local children's book author to read to the children; Library staff handed out Spirit of BC items.

Spirit of BC is a province-wide program that involves 95 Spirit of BC committees, representing over 200 communities across the province. These committees support local programs and help create opportunities in sport and recreation, arts, literacy, volunteerism, business and tourism.
