Mackenzie Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2008

Mackenzie Spirit of BC Week Expose Youth International Night, which drew 250 teens, was organized with Altitude Youth and featured travel information, talent shows, stress counselling and cosmic skating, international food tables and music. At Passport to Sports, 40 people got their passports stamped by trying various sports that will be showcased at the 2010 Winter Games.

Celebrations also included a Capture the Best of Mackenzie photo contest with winning entries displayed in the Recreation Centre. Mackenzie was one of more than 100 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2008.


Spirit of BC Week is an annual province-wide celebration of British Columbia and its unique communities. Held each February, it is a week of over 300 events and activities showcasing local programs and services that strengthen community arts, literacy, sport, recreation and volunteerism. The celebration is supported by the Province of British Columbia.
