Enderby Measures Up in Accessibility

Enderby received $15,000 from Measuring Up. The majority of funds were used to support work experience and employment for people with disabilities, including building rustic garden furniture for sale at the local market. The grant also went toward creating and maintaining an organic vegetable garden with produce for sale at the market, and managing content for a website dedicated to local accessibility issues.

Measuring Up helps communities assess and improve how accessible and inclusive they are for people with disabilities, seniors and others with similar needs. The program includes a fund, established by the Province of British Columbia, which offers grants to communities to complete accessibility-related projects.
