Enderby Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2008

Enderby held a multicultural spirit and Chinese New Year event that drew 80 people and featured Splatsin First Nations Drummers and Singers and the A.L. Fortune High School Dance Troupe. Other activities included a Dragon Parade and a skating party hosted by members of the Splatsin First Nations. Grindrod Elementary held a Spirit activity day where all students received activity books, tattoos and balloons.

One of more than 100 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2008, Enderby concluded its festivities with a Chinese New Year Feast at a local restaurant.


Spirit of BC Week is an annual province-wide celebration of British Columbia and its unique communities. Held each February, it is a week of over 300 events and activities showcasing local programs and services that strengthen community arts, literacy, sport, recreation and volunteerism. The celebration is supported by the Province of British Columbia.
