Story
Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden is the first classical Chinese garden outside of China. It opened its doors in 1986 and has provided unique cultural experiences for visitors and the community ever since. Approximately 75,000 people walk through the gardens each year and nearly 100 volunteers are on staff.
As a small not-for-profit "urban oasis," Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden relies on its team of volunteers to ensure that its operations run smoothly. Through VolWeb.ca, it recruited 50 caring and hard working volunteers for its 2008 Cultural Olympiad Chinese New Year performance. The volunteers had keen attitudes and positive energy. Garden staff say they were a pleasure to work with and ensured that the cultural legacy of the gardens continues for generations to come.
