Delta Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2007

One of more than 83 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week, Delta held a reception to congratulate the Delta athletes competing in the Canada Winter Games. The reception included dignitaries and was followed by a "Delegation to Delta Council" meeting where each athlete was acknowledged and presented with a gift.

In the Get Active and Pursue Sport event, the Delta Esteem Team visited Cliff Drive Elementary and other schools to inspire students to Get Active and Pursue Sport by showing and explaining the benefit of sport and being active.

Spirit of BC Week is an annual province-wide celebration of British Columbia and its unique communities. Held each February, it is a week of over 300 events and activities showcasing local programs and services that strengthen community arts, literacy, sport, recreation and volunteerism.
