Comox Valley Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2007

Comox Valley, one of more than 83 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2007, hosted a Countdown to 2010 event that combined local entertainment, a march of international flags, a guest speaker and a variety of displays and demonstrations. Paralympic World Cup athletes and coaches were represented at the March of Flags. The event coincided with the 2007 IPC World Cup hosted on Mount Washington.

Courtenay also hosted a speaker presentation event at a local library. The event was hosted by the Adult Learning Centre and attendees were given information on the various literacy agencies and supports within the Comox Valley. 


Spirit of BC Week is an annual province-wide celebration of British Columbia and its unique communities. Held each February, it is a week of over 300 events and activities showcasing local programs and services that strengthen community arts, literacy, sport, recreation and volunteerism.
