Bowen Island Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2007

One of more than 83 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2007, Bowen Island held a Walk to Whistler event that challenged community members to walk or run 202 km, the distance between Whistler and Bowen Island and back again. Teams received pedometers to log their distance and keep track of mileage. At the end of the week there was a wrap up celebration with free healthy snacks for all participants.

Spirit of BC Week is an annual province-wide celebration of British Columbia and its unique communities. Held each February, it is a week of over 300 events and activities showcasing local programs and services that strengthen community arts, literacy, sport, recreation and volunteerism.
