One of more than 83 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2007, Blubber Bay and Powell River launched festivities with a flag raising ceremony at City Hall that featured two Olympians. There was also a celebration at the local Recreation Complex that included a free swim and skate, Spirit balloons, tattoos, giveaways and healthy refreshments.


Spirit of BC Week is an annual province-wide celebration of British Columbia and its unique communities. Held each February, it is a week of over 300 events and activities showcasing local programs and services that strengthen community arts, literacy, sport, recreation and volunteerism.
