Birken Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2007

One of more than 83 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2007, Birken held a free artisans' exhibit at the Pemberton Valley Lodge, hosted by the Pemberton Seniors. There were displays and demonstrations of fibre arts by local artisans, including weaving, spinning, and knitting. There was also a showcase of local artists' paintings at the Big Sky Golf and Country Club as well as a photography display.

Spirit of BC Week is an annual province-wide celebration of British Columbia and its unique communities. Held each February, it is a week of over 300 events and activities showcasing local programs and services that strengthen community arts, literacy, sport, recreation and volunteerism.
