The BC Youth on Wheels: Sport Cycling Participation program improves cycling awareness, infrastructure and program delivery throughout the province. With funding of $90,000 from the BC Sport Participation Program in 2004-2007, the Youth on Wheels program involved 684 participants and 45 coaches from 22 communities. Targeted to both children aged 8-16 and women, the program offers a multi-disciplinary approach to promote and sustain road and track cycling, cross-country mountain biking, and BMX racing.
The following communities hosted the Youth on Wheels program: Burnaby, Gold River, Kamloops, Kelowna, Langley, Maple Ridge, North Vancouver, Pitt Meadows, Surrey, Terrace and Vancouver.
