Abbotsford Celebrates Spirit of BC Week 2007

As part of Spirit of BC Week the community held a flag raising at City Hall that was accompanied by local entertainment, arts and cultural displays, and food samplings. The Walk to Whistler was a community activity challenge and was led by a local marching band.

There was also a free family skate at three facilities, swimming at two facilities and an opportunity to try curling. Demonstrations were provided by the local hockey club, the Abbotsford Pilots, and the Abbotsford Whalers, the local swim club.

Abbotsford was one of more than 83 communities to celebrate Spirit of BC Week 2007.

Spirit of BC Week is an annual province-wide celebration of British Columbia and its unique communities. Held each February, it is a week of over 300 events and activities showcasing local programs and services that strengthen community arts, literacy, sport, recreation and volunteerism.
