Story

Ten projects funded by Arts Partners in Creative Development (APCD) were featured as part of the Cultural Olympiad during the 2010 Winter Games. APCD was a $6.5-million arts investment partnership of 2010 Legacies Now, the Province of BC, Canada Council for the Arts, City of Vancouver, Vancouver Foundation and VANOC.

APCD was committed to developing extraordinary legacies for B.C. arts and cultural communities by contributing to the creation of original world-class artistic works. The APCD-funded projects featured at the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad were:

  • Presentation House Theatre: The Edward Curtis Project
  • Hard Rubber Orchestra: Ice Age 2010
  • Aeriosa Dance: In Situ
  • Vancouver Community Gamelan Society: Marathonologue
  • The Only Animal Theatre: Nix
  • Rotary Okanagan International Children's Festival: Rick: The Rick Hansen Story
  • Vancouver's Turning Point Ensemble: Son of Chamber Symphony
  • Western Canada Theatre Company Society: Where the Blood Mixes
  • Mascall Dance: The White Spider
