Story

Six Virtual Voices Village students were selected to join 34 other teens from across Canada as members of the Historica-Dominion at the Games project.

These students attended and reported on their experiences at the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Written and video assignments produced by the participants were posted online at www.fyicanada.ca.

Virtual Voices Village is a SET-BC program which helps students with disabilities develop writing and journalism skills by interviewing athletes and other role models. Online at vvvillage.org, the students contribute articles, stories and other creative work on a wide variety of topics. 2010 Legacies Now supported the program from 2005-2010 in partnership with the Province of British Columbia and 3M. This support included creating an online journalism course for Grades 11 and 12. SET-BC continues to operate Virtual Voices Village as a legacy of the 2010 Winter Games.
