Story

The District of 100 Mile House received $15,000 from Measuring Up. Funds were used to conduct a community assessment and to upgrade the Marsh Trail making it accessible for people with disabilities. Phase II of the project includes plans for a wheelchair accessible viewing platform on the trail. In addition, Measuring Up banners and magnetic car signs were created to raise awareness of the program.

Measuring Up helps communities assess and improve how accessible and inclusive they are for people with disabilities, seniors and others with similar needs. The program includes a fund, established by the Province of British Columbia, which offers grants to communities to complete accessibility-related projects.
